The launch of the SpinPod 30 delivers a bigger version of our robust load-orientation system for the infrastructure, mining, and offshore industries where lifts are getting larger and more complex.”, Verton CEO, and inventor of the technology, Stan Thomson said.

Verton’s technology removes the use of human-held taglines from lifting operations improving safety and efficiency. More than half of all cranes related accidents happen to people in the vicinity of the suspended load. According to a recent publication1 at Konecranes Training Institute, 37% crushed by the load (due to load swing or instability while being placed) and 27% load dropped (due mostly to poor rigging). In both situations, having the capability to control the load from a safe distance, potentially eliminate these risks, while increasing productivity by at least 30%.

“At Verton we believe the release of the SpinPod 30 is another step in the direction of safer and more efficient operations involving cranes, in industries such as offshore, mining and construction. ”

 – CEO, Stan Thomson

The Verton SpinPod has been used for the past 2 years at Albert Street in Brisbane as part of the Cross River Rail project, where the team reported significant improvement just by introducing the Verton equipment. After modifying their process, utilizing the additional capabilities of the SpinPod, their efficiency gains increased to 400%, saving 5 months from the schedule.

There is still much to be done to increase awareness and adoption of remote-control solutions in lifting operations. At Verton we believe the release of the SpinPod 30 is another step in the direction of safer and more efficient operations involving cranes, in industries such as offshore, mining and construction.
